I know exactly what that is. I found one on my dog behind ears.
That is a burrowing mite, the white pointed triangular spot beside has hatched. I had a very difficult time getting rid of them.
Please visit a vet. They can scrap it and determine what kind.
Many members have pets and we all are aware of the high cost of taking our pets to the vet but sometimes there is no alternative such as the one you're facing now.
There is no reason for us to know your financial situation as many are having difficult times right now but if you need help with taking your dog to see a vet please check out some of these resources.
You can also contact your local humane society and see if they can help.
Check Google and see if there are any school/university clinics within driving distance but some will not be in session so try contacting them first.
Also, talk to your vet about making payments.
This could be a bite, allergies, etc. A Vet would need to tell you for sure. It could be all or nothing. Try to get to a Vet as soon as you are able!
Not being a vet and I don't think anyone here is a vet it is really hard to say why your dog has this lump on them. In all cases it is necessary for a vet to see the dog and determine if the lump needs to be removed or it is alright to leave it alone and check to see if anything changes.
