Chilled Yogurt Soup

Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,246 Posts

bowl of Chilled Yogurt SoupPacked with fresh vegetables, nuts, raisins and yogurt, this is one of my all time favourite summertime soups. It's so refreshing in the hot weather, and cheap and easy to make. It's originally a Persian recipe called "Ab Doogh Khiar" but it's easier to just say "Chilled Yogurt Soup." ;) Enjoy!

  7. While stirring, slowly add the water. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for an hour. Alternatively, you can skip the fridge step and add a couple ice cubes to it and serve. So refreshing!

It looks like there is also chopped tomato in the soup, but it's not listed in the ingredients. Am I wrong?

This sounds and looks refreshing. Thanks for submitting easy to follow recipes that even my no-cook granddaughter can make. This may even get her interested in spending more than 3 minutes in my kitchen! She is a lovely girl - just not very interested in cooking - or eating for that matter.

We'll try this soon but I will probably add some Chia seeds instead of walnuts.

Oooo now THAT sounds like a good sub. I've been eating this since I was a kid and never thought to sub the nuts, but now I want to try chia seeds in it. :)
