Cinnamon Apple Crumble

I love to make cinnamon apples whenever I have apples that are starting to go bad. The other day as I was cooking them, my husband asked if I could put a crumb topping on them. I gave it a shot and it turned out great!

Sorry, but I'm confused. First of all, what quantity of apples should be used, and how are they cooked? Second, is the recipe for the crumble topping already double, or do you make twice what is listed here?

Also, in regards to the crumble, I did not double it for this recipe. I used it exactly as listed.
