I have never tried this but apparently, it works.
First: you have to determine if your glasses are plastic or glass, as the same solution does not apply to both types of materials.

Short version: You need to check sites for full instructions.
Glass lenses:
For lenses made of glass, use a solution of isopropanol and saltwater (or mustard) to soften the coating, and then remove it with a plastic scraper.

Check out these sites that offer full instructions on how to determine if you have glass or plastic lens.
also full instructions on the full procedure.

This is what I found for removing the anti-glare coating on lenses:
*This method is recommended for plastic lenses:
The best way of removing the anti-reflective layer is with the help of etching cream. With a cotton swab, apply a little bit of etching cream carefully. (both front and back).
If you get etching cream on the frame of your glasses, wipe it off with the clean side of the q-tip (to prevent damage to the frame).
Let cream sit for 5 minutes.

With another cotton swab, carefully scrub around the surface of the lens (both front and back).
Wash thoroughly with soap and water.
Repeat the entire process if there is any AR coating left.
(NEVER use etching cream on glass lenses as it will produce frosting which will render them useless.)
*To remove the anti-reflective coating from glass lenses, you will need:
isopropyl alcohol (preferably 99%)
plastic scraper
saltwater
plate or bowl
Mix 5 parts of isopropyl alcohol with one part saltwater.
Place your glasses onto a plate and pour out the prepared solution just enough so the lenses are entirely submerged.
Let sit in the solution for an hour to soften the anti-reflective coating.
Scrape off the anti-reflective coating using a plastic scraper, and you are done.

I found information on this site on how to remove anti-scratch and anti-reflective coatings from eyeglass lenses using commercial glass-etching products:

You can buy glass etching products at hobby stores, craft stores and home supply retailers. This will remove the scratches while leaving the plastic lens intact and undamaged, but wear protective latex or rubber gloves when working with glass etching products.

First you have to remove smudges, fingerprints and other contaminants on the lens using a glass cleaner.
Dry the lens with a microfiber towel.

Then apply a glass etching product evenly to both sides of the lens and let it stay for several minutes.

Remove all of the etching material by rinsing the lens under a faucet for several minutes.

Dry the lens with a microfiber towel.
Repeat the process, if necessary.
