Cleaning Dog Pee Off a Cement Floor?

How can I get rid of pet urine odor from the cement floor of my garage? The prior resident's dog has been gone for 2 years, but by the smell of it, you'd think he still marked the garage on a daily basis. Professionals are too expensive, but I'm about to hook a pressure washer to a 50 gallon drum of Febreze unless someone else has a better idea.

Your local pet store should have an enzymic solution. It will actually "eat" the ordor from the concrete.
If it is very bad, you might have to paint the floor with a KILZ-type product. We had to do that on the last house we moved to because the previous owner's 3 dogs wet the floors so much.

Sprinkle dry cement over the floor. Leave for several hours and sweep up. You may need to do several times, but the cement should absorb the odour (also works great for oil stains)

We have an enzymatic cleaner from Petsmart (called Petzyme, but you can get other brands elsewhere). I'm not sure how well it would work on two + year old markings, but it works well on fresh stuff. If you head to Petsmart to get some, it is packaged in different ways; a ready to use spray bottle, and a bigger container that you pour into your own spray bottle.

We opted for the bigger bottle (cheaper per oz). Best of luck!

If dry cement is good for getting rid of odors as well as oil stains, then perhaps regular cat litter will help too. There is a convenience store here in town that uses it regularly on their parking lots. They pour the cat litter onto the cement, put a sheet of cardboard on top of the litter, and then put their foot on the cardboard and move it around to 'grind' the litter into the cement. Then they sweep it up. Don't know if this will work, but it's work a try. Good luck!

I have a cement path on the side my dogs pee and poop on as they were taught to go there. I use a combination of bleach I use it full strength, dish soap and scrub it daily and it does get rid of the odor to our noses. Now if it has been there (in a garage) for years you may have to do it more than once and even pour Bleach down after you have scrubbed it and cleaned it on the floor and let it soak in and then clean that off again with soap and water.

When you use bleach that way make sure you have plenty of fresh air around. This is what I do and it works.
