Cleaning Wooden Cutting Board

If your wooden cutting board is smelling strong after cutting up onions or garlic, moisten a paper towel or rag with white vinegar and wipe it clean. It won't even smell like vinegar when it dries.

This works. We have a butcher block counter and wipe down the cutting space with vinegar after each use. It keeps it clean.

Sprinkle salt on the wood board. Then rub the salt with a lemon half. This will clean your wooden board like magic. (09/05/2005)

I just wash mine in warm soapy water. This also kills the bacteria that hang out on wood boards. (04/26/2006)
