A play sushi set with parts from different sets.Years ago, Amy Dacyczyn of the Tightwad Gazette advised getting toys with missing pieces for free or very cheaply and looking for the same toy with missing pieces. Combine the toys for a complete set.

I love Melissa and Doug toys for their creativity and quality. I got a sushi set on Freecycle, but it was missing the cleaver. Yesterday, I got some random play food on Freecycle. The cleaver was there! I now have a complete sushi set for my granddaughter that retails for $20.
