Differentiating Between a Cold and Allergies?

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 107 Posts

How do you know if you have a cold or simply allergies? I'm honestly not sure! If it's just allergies I can go out and do stuff. But if it's a cold I don't want it to escalate to something worse. The nice weather and outside obligations are drawing me, but I want to make sure.

Fevers occur with colds, not allergies. Symptoms come up gradually with colds and last about a week. Allergies can last for weeks. Itchiness comes with allergies and not colds.
