Electrical Circuit Issue?

The other night my husband was trying to unplug his cellphone charger and the whole plug-in lost power for like 1 second. A couple days later my dog walked behind the recliner and stepped on the chords plugged in and the receptacle and two different ceiling fans lost power for a couple minutes. They all came back on and worked fine after a couple minutes. The dog walked behind the chair a second time and the outlet and fans have not been working since. We replaced the outlet thinking that was the most obvious issue, but still no luck. The breaker is fine. This is an old house so there are no GFCI or AFCI outlets. Any advice that is not "call an electrician"?

Hi,
I have had this same thing happen too. The wire of the device might be the issue. Sometimes, wires, and cords, can be the cause of movement causing power problems.

I would look at the wires and maybe get a new fan or a new charging cord for the phone.

Here is some information on various reasons why these things occur:

Have a blessed day!

If it is working intermittently, you have a loose connection. Tighten the wires and you should be fine.
