This easy pattern allows you to make maple leaves in all the best fall colors. Crochet a chain between each one and make a garland with as many as you want! I hope you like it.

Supplies:
- 20 yd moss green yarn
- 20 yd burgundy yarn
- 20 yd soft yellow yarn
- 20 yd brown yarn
- 20 yd tan yarn
- 20 yd orange yarn
- 20 yd gray yarn
- 20 yd lavender yarn
- scissors
- 1 size J hook
- 5 yd scrap white yarn
Steps:
- Chain 5 and form a ring. Then chain 3 and make 11 double crochets in the ring, slip stitch to join.
NOTE: I prefer to chain 3 and make 11 double crochets in the first stitch, but you can do it either way. 
- Chain 3 and make 1 double crochet in same stitch, which counts as your first 2 doubles. Now make 2 doubles in each stitch around for 24 doubles.
- Skip the first stitch and make 7 double crochets in the next stitch. Repeat this another 4 times for the this. Your next row will define the maple leaf.
- For the leaf point sc in next 4 sts. (3 hdc, ch 3, make your picot, 1 hdc in next st.) sc in next 2 sts. sl st in next st. This gives your leaf point that "pointy tip" we know and love. Finish with a chain with a slip stitch back to the base.
- Picot: A picot is just a tip that has a loop that slip stitches onto itself. It's a nice way to do edgings, corners, and in this case, leaf tips.
The leaf designer is a left handed crocheter. If you get a little confused with the photos, refer to mine and they might be easier. I have taught left handers to crochet and it's a challenge. N-JOY!!
