Felt Shamrock Pin

Supplies:

• light green felt
• dark green felt
• light green embroidery floss
• green buttons
• pin back
• hot glue gun
• sewing needle

Steps:

1. Cut out templates and stick to felt using rolled up pieces of tape. Cut out felt pieces.

 

 
2. Sew smaller shamrock to larger shamrock using embroidery floss. Then sew button(s) onto center of shamrock using embroidery floss.

 
3. Use hot glue to attach the pin back, allow glue to dry before wearing.

Please note - this is not a shamrock! It's a four-leafed clover. Shamrocks have 3 leaves, plus a stem. According to St. Patrick's Day lore, Patrick used the three leaves of a shamrock to explain the holy trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

A four-leafed clover is merely thought to be lucky. Supposedly only about 1 in 500 clovers have four leaves, so finding one is a matter of luck.
