Finding Free Tires?

I need 4 285/45 R15 tires or anything that will work like these tires. I am in dire straights.

Usually the best places to seek help with items like this is to check Craigslist and Freecycle.

  • Since this request is for a "specialty" item there may not be anything on either of these sites but you can place a free ad on both sites asking for help obtaining these tires.
  • You should explain why you cannot afford to purchase them yourself or if you can pay a small amount.
  • You can also place a request on Nextdoor as this is a site in your area and your neighbors may be able to help.

  • You might also check with churches in your area as they sometimes will put notices on their bulletin boards.
  • You may be able to check local tire shops to see if they have any used tires at a reduced cost but I do not believe you will find any free tires.
  • I am not familiar with any charity agency that helps with this type of thing but maybe someone else will have more information for you.
  • It is a good size fee to place tires on a vehicle and in Florida, most tire services will no longer put used tires on a vehicle as they have to be responsible for knowing the tires are road safe and most no longer perform this service. They will only put tires purchased at their shop on any vehicle.

My suggestion is to help find a set amount of money needed to purchase decent tires in a short time.

You may want to create a one time crowd source social media request using Go Fund me or one of the like programs and ask for help for this specific situation.

The accounts are easy to set up and you simply give a brief statement about why you need a boost and ask for some assistance.

Everyone has rough times and I have learned that people want to help their friends/family but are often unsure what is needed or how to help. It is embarrassing for everyone involved to just have someone either not know, guess wrong, or just try to slip you a few bucks to help. VERY AWKWARD!

If not abused or overused, the crowd sourcing thing takes the stigma away from asking because it is specific by telling people exactly what is needed and why. They get a sense of purpose and the good feelings from helping, and you get the money you need to get what you need. It becomes an everyone wins!

The big caveat to this, is that it is important to, as soon as you are able, to pay that kindness forward and keep the good karma going.

Good luck with things!! Hope they get better soon!!
