We have neighborhood Facebook sites and nextdoor.com that allow people to report a missing pet and give contact info. Post as many good clear photos as you can find--from all different angles and tell them what the pet answers to (if he/she does answer to a name).

Do this ASAP and while you are doing this send all of your friends and family who are around to search in different directions on foot and by car.

They should be armed with an irresistible treat like bacon, hot dogs, or canned chicken (if a dog) or whatever the cat's favorite food is.

Tell people if your pet is one to run if chased or if they should sit down and call the pet's name if they see it (that can be critical to the captured).

Post back with an update! Prayers that your pet is found ASAP!

Oh, call your local police department and tell them the pet is missing and call all of the local shelters in case someone turns the pet in to them.

Put a sign up where a lot of people coming home in the evening will drive past it. Make it bold and easy to read if someone is driving past. Use an easy to remember statement i.e. Lost brown dog... 267-555-1212. This worked for me. Good luck.

Try everything suggested but try to get the younger generation in your neighbor involved. Some neighborhoods have nice young people who love to do things like this.

Post as many legal signs as you can with large letters that are readable from a car on the street.
If you have a photo this works really well as you can print several or have them printed at your local drug store photo shop.

You can report your lost to certain missing pet websites as well. They can help you find your missing pet.

Here some website:

Also, they will create a lost pet flyer for you as well.
