Flour Flower Mesh Cup - finished decorated cup I wanted to spruce up my plain looking mesh cup so I dipped some foliage from my garden in a flour/water paste to preserve their shape, let them dry, then did a bit of painting and gluing to put this all together. I'm so happy with it, it's pretty enough to go on my rather girly makeup table.

Total Time: 1 hour (plus overnight drying time)

Yield: 1 cup

Supplies:

6 Tbsp flour
4 Tbsp warm water
mixing bowl and stirrer
flowers and leaves (you can use real or artificial)
wax paper
mesh cup
spray paint
hot glue gun with glue

Steps:

Mix the flour and water together in a bowl until it's a smooth paste.

Dip your foliage into the paste. Make sure they're covered well.

Lay the dipped foliage on some wax paper and let dry over night.

The next day they will be super stiff. You can use them as is, re-dip them in more paste and dry for another day, or paint them. I added a bit of white paint to mine where some colour was seeping through.
