Apple Cobbler (Gluten Free)

A piece of apple cobbler on a plate.I had enjoyed apple cobbler most of my life and used the simple recipe that called for a cup of self rising flour, a cup of sugar, a cup of milk and a stick of butter and sliced apples. Since I can no longer have wheat flour, I had to adjust the recipe to make it gluten free by using gluten free flour. It is good and my family loves it too. It also freezes well for later. I freeze it in serving sizes.



  • 4 to 5 apples
  • 1 cup sifted Pillsbury Best Gluten Free Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
Ingredients for apple cobbler.


  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt butter in a 2 quart baking dish or pan (put in the preheating oven to melt the butter)
  3. A stick of butter in a baking pan.
  4. Quarter apples, remove core and peelings.
  5. Slice into thin slices
  6. Apples cut up into slices.
  7. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar.
  8. Mixing the dry cobbler ingredients together.

  9. Add milk and stir until well blended.
  10. Add melted butter and stir until well blended
  11. Mixing the wet cobbler ingredients together.
    Adding the wet to the dry ingredients.
  12. Add the apples to the batter and stir until all are well coated. Pour into the buttered baking dish.
  13. Pouring mixture over the apples.
  14. Bake for 45-50 minutes until browned on top.
  15. The finished apple cobbler.
  16. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top or without ice cream.
  17. Enjoy!
