Total Time: 30 minutes, drying time included

Yield: one card

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Draw a 5" x 3.6" pencil frame on the paper. Add blue food coloring to one bowl. In the second, mix blue and red food coloring, so that you will have purple food coloring. Dilute the blue and purple food coloring with water ~ the amount of water used will have an effect of the depth of color you will see when painting. Then, apply the food colorings to the inside of the frame, allowing the colors to interflow.
  2. While the food coloring is still wet, add salt to some painted areas and let it dry thoroughly. Then, remove the salt by rubbing lightly over the paint with your finger.

  4. Use the pencil and draw three randomly placed small circles in the frame.

  6. Now use the forks to make flowers: Add the following three Kaibo colors each to a separate saucer: mauve; Prussian blue, and pink. Start by dipping the prongs of the first fork into the Prussian blue paint. Then, press the prongs on the paper, pressing down around the first circle. The imprints left by the prongs should fan outwards. Keep dipping and pressing until you have added imprints all around the circle to complete the first flower. Use the second fork and the mauve paint to make the second flower, and the third fork with the pink paint for the third flower. Allow to dry thoroughly.

  10. Use the bronze metal pen to add detail to the centre of the flowers, and the magenta pen to add detail to the flower petals. Use the blue metal pen to add a stitched frame around the edge. Then, cut out the design.
  11. Fork Printed Flower Birthday Card - use metal pens to add detail to flower centers and petals, use blue metal pen to create a stitched design around the outside, cut out

  12. Score the 8.2" x 5.6" pink cardstock to create a card sized 5.6" x 4.1". With the fold at the left, centre and glue the cerise pink textured cardstock to the front of the card. Lastly, centre and glue the floral design to the front of the card. Tip: Add glue to all areas of the paper to glue it down completely, and to help stretch the paper again.
