Freezing Green Beans Using the Instant Pot

You don't have to stand over a pot of boiling water to blanch green beans anymore. The instant pot makes it easy.

Steps:

  1. Add 1 3/4 cups of water to the liner.
  2. Put in a steamer basket.
  3. Wash green beans and cut off ends. You can snap in half, if long.
  4. Pressure cook for 0 minutes. Quick release. Run under cold water
  5. I spread mine out on a towel to dry completely.
  6. Label and freeze. If you freeze in a single layer, they won't stick together.

0 minutes is the setting on the Instant Pot. It gets up to pressure and then turns off immediately. This is ensures the vegetables are blanched but not fully cooked.

You set it for 0 minutes. It shuts off when it comes to pressure. My instructions are correct
