Getting Rid of Dandelions?

These homemade recipes and tips sound great but I do not want to kill the lawn tried to get rid of dandelions last season and had dinner plate size dead patches in my lawn which had to be reseeded, this year hundreds more dandelions are growing around the outskirts of where the original plants were, help any tips for getting rid of without killing the lawn.

The best method is to use a tool made for this purpose and remove each one, one at a time, but the root. However, for bees, this is the first thing they can feed on each spring. If all the dandelions are killed, the bees will die. Many people don't know this. Also the sprays that kill the dandelions will also kill the bees. By bees, I am speaking of honey bees, which not only provide us with honey, but also are the best plant pollinators.
