In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer 10 to 20 minutes. Remove ginger root, cinnamon sticks and allspice; discard. Serve warm in cups. Garnish with orange slices, if desired. Makes 12 servings (1 cup each)

Ginger is one of the healthiest spices. It is great to settle an upset tummy and also is very soothing in a drink. Have you ever bought a bag of those hard ginger candies? Well, give this recipe a try. Boil a cup of water and add one of the candies. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the candy dissolves. Walla, ginger tea. Yummy.
