Grendel is a Border Collie/German Shepherd mix and Emmett a Great Dane.
How and when did you get your pet?
Grendel was given to us as a companion for Emmett who missed having another dog to play with after our 10.5 year old Rosie passed away.
What does your pet like to do for fun?
Grendel may be a mix, but he acts 100% Border Collie and makes the Energizer Bunny look slow. It is his goal in life to herd my husband and myself, plus keep the backyard wildlife free.
Emmett follows Grendel's lead in everything and his favorite game of all time is keep away. Both dogs love going for rides in the van and truly are brothers from different mothers. They do everything together and have been the best of friends since the day Grendel came to live with us at 4 months old, weighing 29 pounds.
Do you have anything else to share about your pet?
I am disabled and both dogs are my companions 24 hours a day. They make me laugh all the time and definitely keep me busy. Both dogs have such huge personalities and at 2 PM every day we nap together. Grendel near my head with his head across my neck and Emmett stretched out the length of his body next to mine. Yes, we had to buy a king size bed, but it is so worth it!
It's hard to take decent pictures of them because they're both black and I just caught them at the right moment.
