I haven't tried making these using the broiler yet, but I can't imagine they wouldn't be as good cooked that way during non-grilling months too.
Preheat grill for low heat.
Halve each of the bananas lengthwise and then width-wise. Sprinkle bananas with lemon juice. Spread brown sugar on a plate and gently press banana pieces in to the sugar to coat. Lightly oil the grill grate, place bananas on grill and cook for 3 minutes per side.
Place bananas in dessert bowls, top with ice cream, and sprinkle with remaining brown sugar.
