Have Butcher Cut and Repack Bulk Meat

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 555 Posts

Packaged ham ready for the freezerJust a reminder, when meat (like this ham at 99 cents a pound!) goes on sale, ask if the butcher if they will cut and pack the portions separately for you. I did and got four individually packed pieces for future meals (or even sandwiches, salads, etc.)

I ask this for turkeys too! It can't hurt to ask and it saves ME the cost of expensive freezer wrapping materials and time for repacking the pieces when I get home!

Thank you as I've been doing the same for years. My butcher in a local big box store loves it when he can offer suggestions on how to make things stretch for families. I get the biggest turkey cut in for or six sections and have 12 different ways to cook over 3 months of turkey by his help.
