I've been given a female cat. She is about 9 months old. We will be the third owners for the cat. I am just wandering how long will it take her to settle in.

As long as she wasn't abused by her former owners, she will adapt within a few weeks in a loving home. Maybe you can find out what her routine was before she came to you.
Provide a small area to call his own at first like a bathroom or laundry room. Be sure it has food, water, a litter box and a place for you to sit while you spend time with your new kitty.
It depends on her personality to a great extent. It is worrisome that at such a young age she already has had 3 owners, because cats don't like change very much, and this can make them skittish. What they most hate is being taken out of once-familiar surroundings.

Usually not long, but that depends on the cat. Some cats are more of a people cat and others prefer to be left alone. By the way, you may think you own the cat.....but, they cat owns you, at least that is what the cat thinks.
the kitty is still real young. as will adjust well if she is treated with love and given attention...... kitties get lonely and love attention ... but also when settled it. are very content to find a cozy place and sleep the day away :)
