Home Shaped Money Bank - collage of finished bank and window and chimney stepsThis is a pretty complicated project. I have so much on my mind, like buying a car and building a tiny home. Saving is my one priority in reaching these goals. Then I came up with the idea of making a house shaped like a money bank which is divided into two compartments. One is for coins and the other side for the paper bills.

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Cut the box into half. Secure the sides with tape.

  3. Remove this part of the other half of the box. (see photo)
  4. Home Shaped Money Bank - cutting the other half to make the divider

  5. Cut it in half and attach in the center of the first half. This will serve as a divider. One side will have the coins and the other side will contain the paper bills.
  6. Home Shaped Money Bank - divider attached to the center

  7. Now, cover the open space with the second half. Secure the sides with tape.
  8. Home Shaped Money Bank - use the second half to close in the open side, tape

  13. Now, let's go focus on the roof top. Draw a 3x3 cm square and carefully cut it out with a cutter.

  19. Attach these squares around the sides of the square cut on the roof top to form a chimney.
  20. Home Shaped Money Bank - attach squares around the opening to make a chimney

  21. The top of the chimney should have a straight hole in it. This is where the coins will be inserted.

  23. Next, cut another 3x3 cm square on the other side of the roof in line with the chimney.
  24. Attach a mini roof to make it look like a small window on the roof. Leave a bigger hole for the paper bill to fit in.
  25. Home Shaped Money Bank - create a peak roof style dormer window with a larger opening for the bills
