I was just going to say "yum", and start listing ingredients. But, I guess I could add that hummus is not some mystical, overpriced dish you can only get at fancy restaurants.
It is very easy and quick to make at home. Pretty inexpensive and healthy, too. This alone would make a nice lunch. Enjoy! :)
Total Time: 10 minutes
Yield: About 3 cups
Source: Modified from a recipe found on a jar
- 1/3 cup tahini
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 cup cilantro
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 cups cooked chick peas
- Kalamata olives
- Add all of your ingredients to a food processor.
- Blend well.
- Add hummus to your plate, drizzle with olive oil. Add a couple kalamata olives, cilantro, and a sprinkle of cumin. Serve with pita and enjoy!
