"I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - finished card standing on a tabletopThis is a cute and inexpensive Valentine's Day card you can make for your spouse, significant other, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.

I was able to make this card with items I already had at home - card stock, a Sharpie, stickers, scissors, and magazine scraps. You can also cut the pieces from scrapbook paper too if you'd like.

Optional - This would also be a cute and easy craft for your child to make in their own version for a parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt/uncle, etc.

Total Time: 20 minutes

Yield: 1 card

Supplies:

"I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - supplies

Steps:

  1. My card measures 7" x 5" and then I folded it in half. With a scrap piece of paper I cut out a heart to fit the front of my card.
  2. "I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - fold cardstock in half and cut a heart shape to fit on the front

  3. Using the heart I just cut out, I traced around the heart stencil with a Sharpie.
  4. "I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - use heart shape as a stencil to trace around on the front of the card

  5. Browse your magazine(s) and cut assorted pieces of different colors. Then cut into smaller square size pieces. (Or you could use heart paper cutter if you would like, but I like the square look better).
  6. "I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - cut pieces of different colors and then cut into smaller squares

  7. Apply glue stick inside the heart and decorate with the pieces of the colored squares you just cut.
  8. "I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - apply glue inside the heart outline

"I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card -glue down your paper squares inside the heart

"I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - more squares

  9. Keep applying glue stick as you layer on the pieces and continue until you like the outcome.
  10. "I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - colorful squares of paper inside the heart outline

  11. You can handwrite your phrase, use alphabet cuttings from the magazine, or use alphabet stickers like I did. I put "I LOVE YOU TO PIECES" above the heart. Now the card is ready to have a handwritten message added to the inside.
  12. "I Love You To Pieces" Valentine's Day Card - use stickers to add your message to the front of the card

Very cute ! We went one step further and put the cut-up pieces loose ''inside'' the card...so when you pull it out of the envelope...the ''pieces'' fluttered out..we kept the pieces somewhat big, and wrote love(heart) U ....so cleanup was EZ, lol
