Identifying Tiny Bugs in Moist Moldy Shower?

I am looking for advice on what kind of bug I'm seeing in my bathroom! They are super tiny, like little dark specs that you can hardly notice. They are maybe half or 1/3 the size of ants, and I can't see the individual body parts until I use a camera to zoom in on them. See pics. They scurry around pretty quickly when I agitate them by blowing air their way!

Now the environment I see them in: we have a bathroom with very poor ventilation. The shower has small windows in it, which have ledges made of wood. They get super wet and moldy, and it's possible the wood is rotting. At some point we added waterproof caulking at some point to cover holes that ants were entering from, and they seem to be crawling all over the caulking. Any ideas? I was hoping they might be book lice which I saw in another one if the posts on here, but I don't think they look like booklice up close!

Thank guys!

At first they look like silverfish but then silverfish are usually 1/2-3/4 inches and you seem to be saying your bugs are smaller. Your bugs do not seem to have the silverfish tail.

They seem to be acting like a drain fly but do not look like one.
There is an easy way to test for drain flies:
"Place some tape over the top of drain, with some holes in it for air flow. If the drain flies get stuck on the tape as they exit the drain, you know you have drain flies."

To me - they really look like Springtails and it seems that some parts of your house is a breeding ground for this type of bug.
I believe you can kill them with vinegar or bleach but you will need to eliminate the moist areas of your rooms or they will just keep multiplying.
You may be able to bleach the rotten wood until you can replace it.
You do not say if you are renting or buying but either way it is not a good type of atmosphere for you to be living in so please try to work on getting rid of the mold and dampness that is causing it.

This may be a good time for you to think about investing in a good dehumidifier. These can be found (in all sizes and all prices) in local stores or online and this would take a lot of the moisture out of your house.
Most likely your closet have moisture and your clothes may be affected - and ruined.

Check out the Springtails to see if they look like your bugs.

Thank you- I think they are springtails! Back when I originally posted I was able to kill them off with some bleach but they are back. We actually did buy a dehumidifier, but it just isnt doing the job- we might have to just be better about drying the area after each shower. We rent so unfortunately no agency over replacing the wood and I doubt our landlords will want to invest...

Anyway Thanks for all the tips!

They look like tiny silverfish. They are known to live in wet areas and areas of mold such as a bathroom. You really need to clean up the area in your home and get rid of the wet walls or where water is in your bathroom. Just filling in the holes will not stop them from coming back.

They could very well be Springtails. Search them on the web and see if the photos and description match your situation.

They need moist places to survive or they dry up and die. Good luck resolving your issue.
