Identifying a Very Small Brown Bug?

So every once in a while I find the smallest brown bug, round/oblong, the legs aren't long, their antennae if they have them are short. I don't find them often. Usually in the kitchen, but I'll rarely find one in the bedroom. The only commonality I can think of is that they are usually near a window.

I do eat in my room, but don't store food in my room and do remove dishes promptly. Garbage is changed regularly. My rug is wool. My room is cluttered in that I have a lot of furniture in a small space, but not hoarding.

When I clean I can never seem to find a source. I have never seen them fly, which makes me think I the window sill is the key. I've tried several times to find a source, but nothing has been obvious and I really can't identify any damage or clusters of them. Honestly I wouldn't say my room is dirty, but I have three jobs and am in graduate school, so I don't do a weekly full on scrub, just more of a general sweep/dust/vacuum/sheets and spot cleaning deal. Still I haven't found any regularity or source to them. I have a candle and essential oils, but I've never seen one near there.

Because they are so small I am having trouble identifying them through the pics I find online. They're small enough that if you didn't know any better, you'd think they are a fuzz and could be missed. Sorry I don't have a photo.

Id hate to sound neurotic but even seeing just one of these guys is enough to gross me out for a week. Any idea what they could be or how to get rid of them? I wish I had a picture but Im more of a kill the bug now and ask questions later kind of girl.

Thanks

It could be a gnat, or a number of any other bugs. Please post a picture.

Normally if a photo is attached it is easier to identify the bug. From what you are saying it does sound like a gant and this should not be too much of a problem.
