I never buy colored sugar anymore once I discovered that I could make it!
Simply add food coloring (a drop at a time to reach the color intensity you want) into a plastic bag with some sugar, zip it closed and knead it until it mixes thoroughly.

Great idea! I especially like the fact that you can customize your own colors.
You can also buy the powdered colors for candy making and make your own custom colors without baking.

Actually this recipe isn't to bake the sugar, just to completely DRY it but thanks!
where do you purchase powdered colors for candy making?
Probably Michael's Craft stores would have them or any craft stores that carry cake/candy making equipment.
I just used grocery store food coloring. They even come in neon now!
