Here's are some cute flowers that kids can make for their mothers and grandmothers.

  1. Cut egg carton apart, keeping (and separating) the bottom circles.
  2. Cut tissue paper into squares.
  3. Because pipe cleaners are part metal, they have a built-in needle. Push pipe cleaner through base of "flower" cup.
  4. Push the decorative paper onto the pipe cleaner also.
  5. To finish: place one or a few beads on tip, beads should fit snug. If you only have pony beads, give it extra pipe cleaner, fold over and twist.
  6. Adjust cup if desired.
  7. Place in a nice vase and give to someone special, mom perhaps? This is an easy craft, and helps to re-use the unrecyclable Styrofoam egg cartons.

It's pretty amazing to see crafts made from unusual materials. Just like this craft I am showing today. I thought egg cartons are intended just for eggs, but I was able to create a thrifty masterpiece out of it.

  • egg tray
  • scissors
  • glue gun and glue stick(s)

  1. Cut out pockets of egg tray individually.

  3. Trim its pointy corners into curves. See photo.
  4. Cut a 1-2 cm straight line in the middle of each corner and slightly pull them down. So as you can see it now looks like petals.
  5. Compress the petals. Insert one petal over another.
  6. Cut out a long strip from the tray.
  7. Roll this and secure with hot glue.
  8. Put two of the flowers together in layers and place a rolled strip on its center, glueing in place as you go.
