Tuna, cheese and mushrooms are my husbands favorite. He loves baked goodies and so I am putting this recipe down for our Father's Day celebration.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup tuna
  • 1/2 cup chopped button mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp minced onions
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • pre-made dough
  • pinch salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  1. Saute onion and garlic.
  2. Add mushroom and stir fry for one minute.
  3. Add in the tuna and milk then add salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer for another minute.
  4. Gradually sprinkle grated cheese on the mixture.
  5. Stir the mixture until thick and sticky as the cheese melts.
  6. Set aside and let cool.
  7. Divide and cut pre-made dough into six.
  8. Flatten each dough and fill each with 1 teaspoonful of tuna mushroom mixture.
  9. Seal and roll carefully into balls.
  10. Place them in muffin or cupcake molds. It is best ti use muffin molds so the bread puffs into a mushroom shape.
  11. Cover and let rest for 20-30 minutes.
  12. Bake for 20 minutes at 200 C.
  13. Serve and enjoy the cheesy tuna, puffy sensation of mushrooms.

These little crispy pockets of tuna and cream cheese are an excellent appetizer or side to a meal. I came up with them because I adore crab rangoons, but don't always have those ingredients handy.

I always have tuna and cream cheese around! These can be pan fried or baked. I've added both methods in this recipe.
