This magnetic pen or pencil holder is very convenient to have on the fridge because I write on magnetic notepads daily.

I used to have magnets on the pens, but somehow the pens always get misplaced or go missing so hopefully by having this holder - I'll have some pens left.

This magnetic pen/pencil holder was made with everyday household items. Many crafters will not have peel and stick paint color samples, but you can use patterned duct tape, mod podge, paint, etc. instead.

Total Time: 15-20 minutes

  • peel & stick paint color samples
  • hot glue
  • toilet paper roll
  • scissors
  • heavy duty packing tape
  • magnetic strip

  1. Flatten an empty toilet paper roll.

  3. About 3/4-1" from the base pinch both sides to create the "holder" (pocket). Use hot glue to seal the base.
  4. Add strong and secure magnetic strip to the back of the roll.
  5. Cut peel & stick paint color sample to paper roll size and wrap, getting all the air bubbles out. If you do not have this, you can paint your roll, use duct tape, washi tape, mod podge scrapbook paper, etc.

  7. For a nice sparkly touch, I added this beautiful gold floral accent sticker for the trim of the holder.
  8. Ready to add your pens/pencils.
