Photo Description She was protecting her nest! We had come too close and it was a warning. So we backed off. We would never want to disturb a mother goose! Especially on Mother's Day. I was touched by the bird's fierceness, tenderness, and vulnerability. Seeing her was probably one of the best mother's day gifts ever. I do hope both she and her offspring are doing well.
We went on a walk Sunday morning and then down to a nearby reservoir to look for driftwood. There we saw a goose suddenly rise up out of hiding in plain sight, hiss angrily, and flap her wings at us.
