Nails Thin After Removing Acrylic Nails?

I get my nails done a lot, more than I should. I finally took off my acrylics and my natural nails are super thin, it's so bad and it's so painful too. I don't know what to do. I just know I'm not getting acrylics for a long time. How do can I make my natural nails stronger?

It will take time, but most people who have had the same issues as yours went and had a gel manicure done on their nails a week after the acrylic ones were removed. The gel manicure can help to build up the strength in your nails and stop them from breaking and hurting.

You can also get a few products to put on your nails This is an excellent one and it will help your nails. Essentials SolarOil Nail & Cuticle Conditioner

Never put on gel after removing acrylics it just makes it worse! Use a nail & cuticle oil and lots of hand cream keep your hands out of water as much as possible you can paint your nails as long as you use a nail strengthener underneath your colour for awhile then use 2 coats of polish then a top coat got to my blisskiss website they have a lot of info on there Ana is so helpful & get some of there oil it's amazing.

PLEASE keep in mind that the fusion of the gel polish under even a LED light is going to hurt like hell if your nails are already sensitive! A dip is your better option. Take it from me... I fix nails constantly for people who have been abused by fast food type service!

I remember that pain! I hated it so much, and I'm sorry you're going through with it. My best remedy was cutting them short so they wouldn't bend back on anything.

Keep them trimmed until they grow back as thick as they naturally should be.

I bought two things was was onyx hard as hoof, the other was sally hansen miricLe cure. I had to take the acrylic nails before surgery. I was is much pain I decided to do this. After two weeks my nail did not hurt. It worked for me, it was only fifteen dollars, cheaper then going to a nail Salone. I hope this helps. I will think twice before getting fake nails again.

Exactly I'm keeping mine short as possible until the bad parts are gone and I'm using nail cuticle oil constantly and trying to keep my hand out of the water because that can make them weaker go to my blisskiss website they have amazing information.

I had the same issue after getting acrylics for the first time. The removal with that motorized tool was sooo painful and damaging.

No one explains this going into it. The electic rotating stone is torture.

Oh, I sure know that pain you're talking about too.
I found that just leaving them alone after the acrylics were off,
was best to allow them to come back to normal again. Years of
them being covered up, mine were so weak and hurt, I told each finger how sorry I was, haha and then it was quite surprising how fast they came back to life again.

Our hair, nails and skin really just need good nutrition from the inside, and they'll be perfect again.

You have to wait until they grow out. Keep them short until they do.

Daily care will help your nails but it may take a month or so to see and feel great improvement.

  • Suggestions are just that - suggestions.
  • Improvement is usually safer and faster if you pick two or three things to try and stick with the program everyday and even keep up some of the routine after your nails have improved.

  • Suggestions:
  • Keep nails short as they will be easier to take care of and will be less painful; especially when touching/hitting the end (which is usually very painful).
  • Leave nails free of anything other than moisturizers for at least 7-10 days as this will help strengthen the nail itself.
  • Use vitamin E (tiny hole in capsule or vit E oil) around the base of the nail everyday and rub it into the cuticle.
  • Here are a couple of suggestions from "pros":
  • Soak your nails in extra virgin olive oil for 10 minutes a day for a month. After the month is up, you can soak your nail in the oil twice a week. This home remedy provides strength and moisture to your nails.
  • Many sites recommend adding extra Biotin to your diet which is supposed to help strengthen nails and also benefit your hair.
  • Both pros said your nails can be nursed back to health, without a doubt, but it'll take time. Sorry... There really isn't a quick fix. Your damaged nail needs to grow out completely so that it can be replaced with a healthy nail. While you wait, stick to regular nail polish, get regimented about moisturizing, and stay away from acrylics.

  • Here is a site that many suggestions come from:
  • skincare.lovetoknow.com/Natural_Nails_After_Acrylic
  • Many people say that having acrylic nails spoils women and most find it difficult to give them up.
  • After all, beautiful nails are hard to give up (think of all the compliments you receive!) but natural nails can be beautiful too.
  • I, personally, have never had acrylic nails but my daughter has and I watched her go through "withdrawal" when she decided to change her nail routine. It was not easy but she continued to have regular manicures and now seems happy with her almost natural nails.
