Nature Weaving

This is a fun activity to do with your kids. They can take them on walks to collect things they find along the way. Then once they are finished you can display their collection!

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Measure and mark about every 1 inch along the edge of the cardboard. Then do the same on the opposite end. Use scissors to snip the cardboard at each mark.
  2. Tape the end of the string to the back of the cardboard and then bring the string through the top notch of the cardboard. Bring the string around to the front, across to the other side, and into the adjacent notch. Then go around the back of the cardboard and through the next notch. Repeat until the entire board is wrapped.

  4. Use scissors to snip items you want to weave, leaving enough stem to tuck behind the strings of the weaving board. Gently weave the items you have found onto the weaving board. Continue adding items that you find. Happy weaving!
