Close up of the geum blossoms

Photo Description
Here are some photos of my geum in bloom, also known as Avens. This easy to grow perennial has beautiful airy flowers in bright orange. Other varieties can be pink, red or yellow. The main part of the plant resembles a large strawberry plant, and some varieties are know as "barren-strawberry. It's part of the Rosaceae family. As the blooms fade, you are left with attractive seed pods. It's a great addition to your flower garden.

I planted this in 2016 and it has handled the temperature fluctuations of the past few years with flying colors, as you can see. We just weed whack the stems back to the main plant in the fall and it comes back bitter and better each year.
