Peppermint Oil to the Rescue

A bottle of peppermint oil next to a lip gloss.I found myself using my peppermint oil 4 times this holiday season.

  • First to deter my cat from visiting a particular area of the rug where she previously had an "accident". I soaked a cotton ball with peppermint oil and left it on a small piece of aluminum foil and she stayed away. Apparently cats don't like the scent! Problem solved!

  • I had a terrible headache after a long day and laid down occasionally sniffing the peppermint oil directly from the bottle. Apparently strong scents MAY (and in my case, DID) stop headaches from hurting! Go figure, but it works!
  • I added the oil onto some of my Christmas Tree ornaments for a fun, peppermint scent!

  • This was my NEWEST Hack; adding a few drops of the food grade essential oil into my tube of lip gloss. It smelled and tasted great and it's a natural lip plumper like those expensive glosses!
  • Happy Holidays to All!

I rub the diluted peppermint oil on my temples when I have a headache. It works great. Dont use it straight from the bottle though.

Great comment and you are so correct!
Dont use any essential oils directly on skin full strength.
Use it in a carrier oil if applied to skin.
I also found inexpensive necklaces that actually hold a teeny cotton balls which you can saturate with your essential oil and wear for a lasting treatment or just to have a wonderful fragrance all day!

Thanks for your input!
