Preventing Fraying Thread on Machine Embroidery?

Any suggestions on preventing thread from fraying after the outline sews around the designs. I've tried 2 types of needles: 75/11 & 80/12. This is a Tajima embroidery machine. Caps is the product being run on the machine.

I asked a friend who has an embroidery machine. She suggested trying a different thread. It sounded to her like faulty or old thread.
