Preventing the Spread of Parvo?

I went over to a friend's house, whose dog had parvo. I did not touch the dog at all, but I touched the gate outside of the house. I have two dogs at home. I bleached my hands, arms, and legs and washed my body with a disinfectant. Can my dogs get parvo still?

I agree that the shoes would probably where any of the virus germs would be so maybe you walked them off before getting home.

I would be more concerned spreading it by your shoes. I would recommend bleaching the shoe bottoms if possible.

I would talk to your vet ASAP and ask for what to look for with your pups and G-d forbid, they show any symptoms, get them into a vet IMMEDIATELY and follow the vet instructions to a "T".

The disease is bad, but can be managed with proper care (which I will pray does not happen to your fur kids!)

Wishing you all the best!

I think the chances are slim.

It is very unlikely they will get parvo if they have been vaccinated. If not vaccinated bleach the bottom of your shoes and clean your hard floors with bleach in the cleaning solution.

When the crisis is passed be sure and get your dogs vaccinated. Talking to your Vet might be helpful.

You'd want to make sure you completely cleaned off anything that went in contact with their stuff and came back to yours. Just to be safe, do talk to your vet and keep an eye on your dog and any changes.
