What are people in your area charging to do any type of house work in your area?
Can you estimate how long it will take you to fold these 3 loads of laundry?
Are you doing these within your area with no traveling involved?
Is this a 'one time' job or will you be doing this on a regular basis?

If the job is in your area (no traveling - no pick up or delivery) and it is a one time job then charge whatever is the normal hourly rate for housework in your area. If you cannot estimate how long it will take then take the job with the hourly rate quoted and state the charge when finished. (This is a friend; right?)

If you have to do anything other than just folding the clothes then you should charge for that time also.
I see no reason to give a discount to a friend on such a small job and a friend should expect to pay the going rate but expect an excellent job.

First, how close is this friend? Second, I would charge at least minimum wage per hour. Say minimum wage in your area is $10.00 per hour...that makes it $0.17 (17 cents) per minute. If it takes less than an hour to fold all three loads, charge my the minute. If this is for a good friend, they should certainly NOT mind paying you at least minimum wage.

Try asking $5.00 a load, which will equal to $15.00. Make sure it is pristine folding for follow up jobs.

You should see what others charge for the same service in your area. You may want to give your friend a 20% discount.

If you cannot find out the payment for this work in your area, then simply calculate how much time you need to spend folding at least one load of laundry, and then recalculate according to the hourly wages in your country. You can do a test folding to see how long it takes. It's just difficult to tell the exact amount of money without knowing where you live and what kind of clothes you will need to fold.

If your friend is low on cash, please keep in mind that bartering can be a form of payment as well. :-)

If it's just a one time thing, like a favor, then nothing. If it is a frequent basis, I think others have given sound advice. Charge by the minute and do a really nice job. :)
