Recovery Time for a Puppy With Parvo?

I have a 13 week old male Pit Bull. He started showing symptoms of parvo about a day and half after we got him and it's been about 5 days since we took him to get tested which came back positive. The throwing up has subsided and diarrhea has now turned back to solid poop. Are we out of the woods?

Your dog is on the way to recovery now. However, you'll still need to keep a close eye on him for signs of vomiting and diarrhea. You'll also need to keep him on a very light diet for a few more days. Normally they recommend that you only feed the dog cooked pasta or white cooked rice for about a week after he starts to recover.

Parvo can last a few weeks. Your dog has made a lot of progress. Contact your vet if he gets worse.
