Recycled Incense Burner

Deodorizing beads used as an incense burnerIf you use deodorizing gel beads and your beads have dried up beyond normal use, you can then re-purpose that jar as an incense holder so that a stick of burning incense remains upright or at a slight angle. Fill the empty or nearly empty jar with water, sand, glass beads (Dollar store), etc., then poke the base of the incense stick through the vent holes in the large top of the bead jar. And you're done. Placing this on a dish, Frisbee or so on will catch the ashes from the incense stick as it burns down to the wooden stub.

PS: This jar is almost empty of beads or anything else to help hold sticks in upright positions! Jars should be filled with sand, dirt, glass beads, incense ashes (a lot), or "re-grown" gel beads. To "regrow" deodorizer beads, amazingly enough, just add water! In about a day, they will regain their original, or larger size!

If the holes are big enough you can keep knitting needles and small crochet hooks in them!
