Removing White Heat Mark on Laminate Workbench?

Whilst sitting on my laminated work bench, the steam generator iron has turned the laminate, under where the iron was sitting, white. What can I do?

Try a paste of baking soda and warm water.

What color is the laminate?

This is a very tough fix. If it is the color that can be covered with a sharpie and it is not in a high traffic area like a kitchen, a cosmetic coloring may be an option.
