I think the burnt popcorn smell, unlike other smells, does dissipate after some time, thank God

Things that can be done meanwhile:

activated charcoal and vinegar will both neutralize the smell

you can purchase activated charcoal here: www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_2?tag=thrif06-20 (Affiliate Link)

1. Place fans where they can blow out the windows and in general do all you can to circulate air.

2. leave dishes of coffee grounds, unbrewed, lying around. These also absorb smells.

3. Get four bowls of cut onions and place them around the parameter of each room, or in the corner of each room. Onions absorb odors, believe it or not.

4. Fill up a spray bottle with two cups of water and 1/2 cup white vinegar. Spray everywhere and wipe down with this mix.

Replace the smell with another smell. Use baking soda on the carpets & then vacuum it up after 15 minutes to refresh. Maybe can wash the walls with soap & water if possible. Burn candles with scents through out the house.
