Replacing Door Hardware

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 267 Posts

An old and new door hardware. We recently had to replace our doorknob, which was about 10 years old at that point. At first, we thought to change the look and style of the knob but soon realized that the original knob had marked the door over time. It looked terrible. We went back to the store and found the exact same knob pattern, which covered the damage exactly. Sometimes, change is not the best answer.

I was really struck by the wear and discoloration of the original knob. It was so yellowed and whatever protective coating originally existed was worn through in places.
