The most clever and beautiful thing I ever saw done with one was at a reuse craft show where someone made a Christmas Tree of a lamp and metal coat hangers. I wish I could find a photo of the tree, but it was gorgeous with handmade decorations hanging from it--and they were also for sale and were re purposed.
