I have roof that needs replaced in Mooresville, IN. I'm disabled and low income.

The best way to find a roofer is to ask people in your area who they recommend or use. As for finding help the government does have programs to help roof a home for disable or low income families. I am not really sure right now if any of these programs are opened because of the lock down around the world. You may need to wait until things settle down a bit before contacting them for help.

This may or may not be a good time to be asking for help/assistance with major repairs but it still seems like a good idea to start applying to see what you might qualify for.

Replacing a roof is one of the most expensive repairs that a home ever needs so you may have to be on a waiting list and sometimes these can be 2 to 3 years waiting. Not only is it expensive but it requires permits and licensed supervisors overseeing all of the work - quite entailed.

Do you own (mortgage?) your home?
If it is a mobile home you will probably not find very much help as not too many organizations will do work on a mobile home.

Are you presently receiving any government benefits?
SSI - SS - Foodstamps - or any other type of assistance?
If so, this will many times help you with completing the forms as some of your information will be available through those programs but it also shows that you have been approved for assistance.

No one can really help you with completing the forms and they can be troublesome but this is the only way to see if you qualify.

You may wish to contact Habitat for Humanity first to see if they can help as they do not have as many forms as the other agencies.

Here are some agencies in your area that offer help so check out all of them because one may have more money available and would take less time to send help.

You can also advertise on social media outlets, there are people out there who are skilled and may help. Also here are some links to help - www.homeadvancement.com/.../grants - lowincomerelief.com/.../

you may alert a church or a charity organization and see if anybody in the area has volunteered their services.
