Selling Standing Timber?

I have a 3/4 acre lot of Austrian pine. All trees are straight and tall, about 40 years old. I have talked to several lumber buyers and they all want at least 10 acres. I would like to sell them.

Most will not come log these for such a small amount. Their equipment is very costly to run, and its dangerous so loggers are paid well. If they travel any distance to get to you, thats even more. On a logging show on tv recently they were saying they don't break even until they hit 200 trees, and some jobs they don't even make a profit if they break down.

Your best bet would be to see if someone on craigslist or a swap shop would want them. But, make sure they have insurance.

Most people have to pay someone to take it away. If you are lucky you can get someone to cut it in exchange for the wood, but I doubt it.
