Place shirt in a plastic bag and put it in your freezer until the gum hardens and you should be able to scrape it off the fabric.

Well, I also discovered gum AFTER throwing a micro fibre pillow case (part of a king size duvet set) into the wash and dryer. The fabric softener method worked wonders. Btw, it doesn't have to be Downy, either. I had a no name softener that did the trick.

Try hairspray let it set and harden then scrap off! Soaking it in ice cubes sometimes works. put it in the freezer when it hardens scrap it off.

Or...just toss it in the garbage and buy new clothes !

Freeze it with an ice cube and scrape with a butter knife.

Use duct tape but HVAC tape is the best. Good luck!

Toothbrush scrub the gum crud with heated vinegar. Works for me on my American eagle shirts when I leave them in the dryer through pockets.

The best way to get gum from a pocket that was washed and dried just spray with windex and rub with a dry cloth repeat until it all comes out. I did it and it worked great I will now rewash the shirt. Hope this will help someone out their.

I tried with unheated vinegar and it worked! Put vinegar on the gum areas and let soak in. Wait for about 1minute to give the vinegar time to break down the gum. Then used a old toothbrush, dipping it in more vinegar and scrubbed up the gum.

For the few spots that didnt scrub up, I used my thumb nail and scrapped the rest off. Quick and easy.

SOLVED: WD40
I have a pair of pants that was washed and dried at least ten times. There was no gum or residue left in the pocket, but still a dark stain that wouldn't come out. I sprayed the area heavily with WD40, scrubbed it with an old toothbrush, and let it set for about an hour. I then covered the area with liquid laundry detergent and washed and dried it. Afterwards, you could see a slight ring where the WD40 was applied, so I scrubbed it with detergent again, washed and dried it, and all traces of the gum are completely gone.

I need help, I washed and dryed a load of clothes and then found the gum. Well I've removed it from the dryer with WD-40, but I can't get it out of some of the clothing items.

It's no longer a chunk of gum, it's set into the fabric and is very stiff and looks stained. Any ideas on how to remove it? Thanks! Beth
