Shabby Chic Upcycled Box

Supplies:

• wood flip top box
• Valspar Satin Spray Paint
• white craft paint
• emblem or stencil (optional)
• hot glue gun, optional, for attaching emblem

 

 

Steps:

1. Wipe down to remove dust.
2. Spray paint the outside; let dry.
3. Next spray the inside; let dry.

 
4. To give my box a shabby chic look, it was lightly brushed with white craft paint, it doesn't have to be perfect, that makes it more shabby. To give it an older look you can dry brush with tan craft paint.

 
5. An emblem was added that I had on hand. I hot glued it on (optional). Dry. You could also add a stencil.

6. This box can have many storage functions including craft supplies, office supplies, or even jewelry.

I love it! I found 2 Whitman's Sampler holiday tins for my thread storage. No more having to dust off my spools before sewing.

I love your shabby chic box. I just found an antique box at a yard sale for a quarter. "Love those yard sales." :) I can't decide yet what to do to it.
